Hello and Happy 2014 to you all!! Hope your New Years Eve festivities were fun and safe!! I had a great time with family and friends ... wine and Chinese food!! YUM!!
A new year is always a great time for a fresh start. I'm already planning on trying to change up Project Life - maybe simplify it, try new photo pocket pages, etc. Week one is just about done and I will post soon.
I also have some new ATC's in the works and will post soon as well!
Another personal fresh start will be my blog. After years of typepad and LOTS of $$$$ spent on it, it's time for me to switch to blogger. With the help of Kristine Davidson - a fabulous blog designer, scrapbooker, sketch designer and more, I now have a new blog. She transfered all my info from typepad to blogger, freshen up the look, added social media buttons and I simply LOVE the color scheme!! Please stop by and let me know what you think!! I would love some feedback. Here's the link to my new blog!!
Have a great week and I'll be back soon with some new projects!!!
Hope you all had a great Holiday and are enjoying some much needed time off! My Holiday was lovely. I enjoyed seeing family and spending time with awesome friends!!
I was able to catch up on PL and have just completed weeks 51 and 52. I joined the PL craze in August of this year and have really enjoyed the process. I love adding little embellies to the cards and have definitely enjoyed my typewriter and date stamps. Going forward I want to add some different styles of photo pocket pages and try new techniques to keep it creative. I used the "Merry and Bright" mini kit for weeks 51 and 52 and added only a few photos since the cards in the kit spoke for themselves. I used photo pocket page Design F for both weeks.
Here's Week 51 ...
I did lots of journaling on this page to document my favs of the season. Here's some close-ups ...
I had this chipboard tree forever and decided to decorate it with twine and sequins ...
How cute is this Santa Washi tape ...
Week 52 ... To highlight the days of the week I used clear sequins over the days. The date stamp is Amy Tangerine ...
I noticed that days 30 and 31 are backwards but embraced the mistake LOL!!
The little reindeer paperclip is so adorable ...
yes, more Holiday wine pics LOL!!
So, that wraps up Project Life for 2013! It wasn't a full year but it was a fun one!! What I'm NOT caught up on is December Daily ... working on that now. I was going to give up and change the date on the album cover to 2014 but I will forge ahead and finish it! Note to self: start Decemeber Daily EARLIER nest year!! See you soon!!
Hi Bloggers! How's the holiday rush going? I feel like Christmas was scheduled early this year between a late Thanksgiving followed by vacation. I will plan differently next season ... we are considering a return trip to Bermuda since we had such a great experience and I WILL decorate for Christmas BEFORE I leave! Remind me that I said that, OK ?!?!?
Well, I still am behind on PL, and December Daily will be done but not until after the Holiday. I also have several sketches to catch up on as well! I had completed PL for Week 50 and then decided to make it a two pager so that Weeks 51 and 52 could be together in the album using the Merry and Bright Mini Core Kit. So Week 50 is now finally done. I used Noel Mignon's December Main Kit and the PL Kit to complete these pages. The photo pocket pages I used are Design F. Here's the left side:
I used Crate Paper's "Bundled Up" for these pages - winter themed with summery photos - it was odd but I figured it was Winter in Bermuda too so why not!! I used several elements on these cards to tie them in together: tags, gold shimmer twine, word stickers, camera washi tape and some banners. Here's close-ups of the cards ...
There is a tag tucked inside an envelope with journaling on it ..
I split the photo on the next section and the camera border is fun washi tape ...
The right side of the week ...
My favorite part of the week was the sun, pool, beach and hot tub. My second favorite was visiting the Royal Naval Dockyard. The area isn't beautiful but the art shops were AWESOME!! Here's another 4x6 card ...
Thanks for letting me share this week with you. I'll be back soon with weeks 51 and 52 using the Merry and Bright mini core kit!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!!!!
Hi Everyone! I'm long overdue for a post wouldn't you say?!?! I'm back from a wonderful week in sunny, warm, friendly Bermuda. It was my first time there and I would return in a heartbeat!! The warmth of the Bermudians equals the warmth of the gorgeous weather!! The island is clean, the views are spectacular and the food was AWESOME!! Lots of visitors were from Boston - mostly golfers. The golf courses in Bermuda are stunning and almost makes me want to learn to play. I took lots of pics and will edit them soon as I'm trying to play catch up in two days before I return to the daily grind.
I finished my PL page for Week 49 last night. I have also completed my December Daily Cover only at this point. For Week 49 I used a combination of Noel Mignon's main December Kit and PL Kit called "Ribbon Candy". These kits are LOADED with holiday themed papers and embellishments - it's like ton of Christmas presents!! I used October Afternoon's Silent Night for this page. Here's the whole page using photo pocket page Design F ...
I used many of my favorites on the cards: sequins, my Dear Lizzy day and date stamp, doilies and my typewriter. Here's the title card. I used tiny little tags and number stickers for the week ...
Most of this week was spent getting ready for my Bermuda vacation ...
So there you have it - week 49! Week 50 will highlight some of my trip and I also plan to create a mini album of my vacation. It has been a long time since I've been out of the country and it was so worth it!! Thanks for looking and have a good week. I'll return soon with more craftyness!!
Happy Sunday to you all! I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. I had a great day with family in Rockland, Ma. The food was AWESOME, the company was great, the kids were well behaved and the boxer puppy was energetic but very well mannered!! I missed my Gram but she was with us in spirit!
I personally did not participate in the Black Friday madness - not my thing but I hope those that did had fun and scored some great deals!!! I did however support Small Business Saturday in my own small way by visiting my local scrapbook store Right at Home Scrapbooking. They are in the process of moving and the new locale is soooooo pretty and bright and the classroom is perfect.
So, onto Project Life. Wow - week 48! Only four more weeks left in 2013 - it's hard to believe. I started the PL process in August of this year - I'm always late to start most things! I am surprised how much I have enjoyed the process and love looking back on what I've created. Like anything, I have pages that I love and some ... not so much, but they all document my life at that moment and that's what it's all about! This week I used Maggie Holmes "Flea Market " again - I can't seem to get enough of this kit!! I used photo pocket page Design B. Here's the entire page ...
The title card ... it was soooo cold and windy last Sunday, while the week before we had a 66 degree day - typical New England!!
The date stamp - I have a "thing" for these! This one is a Dear Lizzy stamp that has days of the week, dates and sayings ... LOVE these, as you can see ...
Now, a new door may not seem like a big deal. However, I have been in my house for 17 years and my old steel door was so cold in the winter, and so hot in the summer and the insulation was gone so you could feel the cold air coming in during the winter months. So, this new fiberglass door, fully insulated and updated means so much to me - you have no idea!!
The white alpha stickers are Basic Grey. Of course, there has to be a turkey photo this week ...
and, NO I did not cook this lovely bird which will surprise, um, no one that knows me!!
A new rug isn't a real big deal either, right?!? Well, when I had my first floor renovated over a year ago, the flooring in the living room was elevated to the point that the front door was so close to the floor that I couldn't get a rug under it. With a big dog and New England weather, I really missed having a rug there. So, I begged the door guy to PLEASE allow for a rug under new door. He said it probaly wouldn't work - several times - and then when he was done, he had fixed it so it would fit!!! THANK YOU MIKE!!!
No, that's not me with the shopping bags, just a really cute and colorful Black Friday screen shot. Isn't the date stamp the cutest ...
Typo alert ... it has been fixed but I didn't see the point in reshooting ... (now you will want to read this LOL!!)
Well, that's week 48, Thanks for letting me share - it's not a super exciting life, but it's mine and it's fun to share the everyday. For the month of December I'm going to feature a Holiday themed collection each week. It's a great way to use the papers and change it up a bit. Stay tuned and HAPPY DECEMBER!!
Hello everyone! Hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving. I spent a great day at my brother and sil's with delicious food, lots of laughs, fun kids and a well mannered boxer puppy! It is always great seeing everyone together - but hard as it was the first Thanksgiving without my Gram. We made a few of her fav dishes so it felt like she was with us! I am so grateful for my family and this tag was created as a reminder ...
I also wanted to share my Project Life page for Week 47. This week has more photos, one for each day. I used Maggie Holmes "Flea Market" mini kit again - I'm still really enjoying this collection! The pocket page is Design B. Here's the whole page ...
The title card ...
I can't have a page without featuring my sweet pets. Here's sleepy time Max ...
and an incredibly warm day in November ...
some reorganizing in my studio and a sweet little visitor at work ...
all new smoke detectors after they ALL went off at the same time for no apparent reason and a trip to the always fun Pier 1...
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my creative stuff! Have a great weekend and I'll see you soon!!!
Hi, I'm back AGAIN - can you believe it? I recently finished a layout using Creative Scrappers current sketch #256. I love how the sketch was so out of my comfort zone! I wanted my take to be unique but still resemble the sketch! For some reason hexagons popped into my head when I saw the sketch and it finally clicked as I pieced the hexagons together! I used remnants from an older Noel Mignon Kit called Melrose. Here's the sketch and then my version ...
The frame under the adorable puppy photo is actually gold and shows up better in this close-up ...
The splatters are Distress paints in Festive Berries and Mustard Seed. This was a great sketch to get the creative juices going. Enjoy your day and see you soon!!!
Hey Everyone! I'm back again this week with my Project Life page for Week 46. I have to say that constantly capturing the everyday can be challenging. I find myself forgetting to snap a random pic some weeks. Then, other weeks I'm in project life mode! Thank goodness for screen shots, right?!?! Week 46 is a bit photo sparse but I was more vigilant in week 47.
Well, I'm still LOVIN' Maggie Holmes" Flea Market" Mini Core Kit which I used for weeks 46 and 47. The page design I used for week 46 is Design D. Here's the whole page with some close-ups to follow ...
The title card ...
I combined typed dates (I'm so addicted to my typewriter!) with my own journaling ...
This is the sequin pocket page I created week 45 - will definitely do this again ...
and my final card and favorite of the week ... LOVE this little guy!!
Thanks for looking and I will post week 47 this week! Feels good to catch up!!
I love working with sketches and this month's sketch over on the Noel Mignon blog provided me with a great opportunity to use my latest photos of Joshua. I was so lucky to have him visit me last weekend. Sunday morning we look a little nature walk. There are lots of wooded areas off my backyard and I've had the pleasure of exploring them ever since I moved here 17 years ago. Joshie found an empty birds nest and we found a nice place to return in. I used Noel's November kit called "Gather Together" for this layout. Here's the page followed by some close-ups ...
After fussy cutting the leaves I bent the edges to give them some dimension. I used a paper punch to add the small circles around the leaves. How cool are these burlap thickers - perfect for a Fall layout ...
A little bit of twine and some Fall flair ...
Thanks for stopping by and I will be back with my Project Life pages for weeks 46 and 47 later this week. Have a good week!
I work full-time to support my scrapbooking hobby !!!
