Creative Scrappers Sketch #256

Hi, I'm back AGAIN - can you believe it?  I recently finished a layout using Creative Scrappers current sketch #256. I love how the sketch was so out of my comfort zone! I wanted my take to be unique but still resemble the sketch! For some reason hexagons popped into my head when I saw the sketch and it finally clicked as I pieced the hexagons together!  I used remnants from an older Noel Mignon Kit called Melrose. Here's the sketch and then my version ...

The frame under the adorable puppy photo is actually gold and shows up better in this close-up ...

The splatters are Distress paints in Festive Berries and Mustard Seed. This was a great sketch to get the creative juices going. Enjoy your day and see you soon!!!

Something's Sketchy ...

I will never grow tired of scrapbook sketches! I love taking a sketch and putting my own twist on it. Even more, I love to see how others interpret the SAME sketch. Well, Creative Scrappers has done it again with another awesome sketch. Sketch 255 was a blast to work with and it gave me a chance to play with Noel Mignon's November kit called "Gather Together".  

Here's the sketch followed by my layout. The photo is of my cousin and I - we are exactly one month apart ...

I had fun adding sequins, epoxy stickers and splats of gesso ...

 wood veneers are always a cute accent ...

I used TCW Life Bits Stencils and modeling paste on this title card ... these are also great accents for a PL page ...

A sketch and a Kit ...

So, you know how I LOVE sketches, right?!? And you know how I LOVE Noel Mignon monthly kits ... so, using them together doesn't get any better! Creative Scrappers latest sketch is so fun. It is Sketch # 254 and you can see all the DT reveals on the blog.  Here's the sketch ...

I used Noel Mignon's October Union Square Kit for this sketch. Here's my take on the awesome sketch ...

I had the opportunity to take several classes with the oh so fabulous Dina Wakley. I learned so much about combining color and mediums and I would highly recommend her classes!! I have been wanting to scrap this photo for awhile and this collection was perfect for it. I combined elements from the main kit with the coordinating Project Life kit and blinged it up with some gold accents.

Days off and a Sketch

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

I have so enjoyed my last few days off. I spent time with family, great friends and also had some studio time.Today, I picked up my vintage typewriter from a repair shop and the owner said he actually had some offers on it! You can't beat quality equipment when things were made to last!!

I finished a layout today based on the latest Creative Scrappers Sketch #253. I used Noel Mignon's October's Kit "Union Square" to create this page. Noel's kits are PACKED with product and are worth every penny!! I did LOTS of layering on this page and bent the edges of the papers to add domension. Here's the inspirational sketch ...

I LOVE this picture of Josh - he's so grown up now. Here's a close-up of all the layers including an awesome envelope from Fancy Pants ...

The kit came with a Dear Lizzy wooden word "love" which I paunted with gold paint. It looked kinda plain so I added some gesso to a background stamp and stamped it on the painted word and it looked so much better ...

A Birthday, A Sketch and A Kit!

WOW, another Birthday has arrived ... the "number" is an eye-opener, and thankfully, I do not feel my "number"!! Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes.

My layout this week is based on Creative Scrappers latest Sketch - #252. My page took a while because I got "stuck" a few times - once with the square without a photo and the title didn't come too quickly. So, I put it aside for a few days and then it come together. I used paper's from September's Noel Mignon Kit "Miss Nelson. Here's the sketch and my layout based on it ...

I stayed true to the sketch and just angled the squares a bit. Here's some close-ups ...

Creative Scrappers is back!

I'm so happy that Creative Scrappers has returned! I have always loved sketches and I especially love the freedom to use whatever products I have to create with. Creative Scrappers latest reveal did not disappoint - the sketch is adorable and the circle and star elements can be interpreted in so many ways. Here's a peek at the sketch ...

I used a Tim Holtz Stencil and modeling paste to create the circles/stars elements. The stencil is the new Splatters Stencil which I will definitely use often. I used my latest Noel Mignon Kit - the September Miss Nelson kit which is LOADED with products!! Here's my take on the sketch and a few close-ups ...

Gotta Love a Sketch ...

Happy Sunday Everyone! It's overcast here today but yesterday was a perfect summer day - and not as hot as last week! I ran lots of errands yesterday and had a great summer meal with my family in Norwell! We had our first corn on the cob for the summer and it was AWESOME!!! It wouldn't be summer without corn on the cob! I know that sounds trivial but it's part of summer to me!!

This week was back to work after a week off. However, I was quite productive in my studio while on vacation.I have several projects to share during the next week!

I love that Creative Scrappers has a July sketch avaiable for us and I dove right into this one - Thanks Kristine Davidson!! I used Crate Paper's "The Pier" collection. This collection is so fun and all the embellies are adorable. Here's my layout and the sketch ...

Here's a close-up of the long title. I used a combo of thickers ...

The gold sequins that come with The Pier collection were the perfect touch to tie in all the gold elements ...
